Go Cubbies!!!

I know, I know.
We're gluten for punishment.

But no matter what, I will always be a Cub's fan!!

So several years ago our college started an annual alumni event.  The event has been dinner and a Cub's game.  Our besties and us have made it a yearly tradition to attend these Cub's games together (actually we started our tradition before our school did :) )

So last night we continued the tradition!
Wasn't a big turn out but we had a fabulous evening!!

They use to do the event in August and the last couple of years have switched to the spring, so they have been a bit chillier.
Last night was no exception.  Freezing!  However, being the prepared people we are, we were all quite comfortable during the game.  I had on long underwear, long sleeve shirt, t-shirt, sweat shirt, North Face shell, and a down vest.  Ha!  Somer and I also snuggled under a Tinkerbell blanket. :)

We had free wifi so I must say Somer and I were a bit distracted with talking and our phones but we did do some cheering!  We left a little early since it was a late game and we had a least an hour drive home but turned out to be an exciting end to the game and Cubbies beat the Cardinals!!!

We look forward to carrying on the tradition next year!

Our first year!  That's Ryan, Somer (& Anderson in tummy) next to the Hubs.  And yes I put Bella's back up outfit on because everyone was saying what a cute boy she was!

The hubs was traveling so Brynnie Boo was my date.  She didn't stop smiling the whole night. :)  And her and Uncle Ryan did not let the freezing cold temperatures stop them from enjoying ice cream!

We were very thankful the giveaway last night was warm gloves!!

Lots of Love to Give.....

I have issues.
I found myself mad at a one year old today.
Brooklyn had a bit of a bully in her Sunday school class today.
After I drop her off, I like to watch for a bit in the one way window.  Well as I was watching, I witnessed this little girl come up to Brooklyn and shove her.  Brooke sat frozen on the floor.  Meanwhile, this little girl goes over to another little girl with a paci and rips it out of her mouth, and when this paciless girl starts to cry the little trouble maker slaps her in the mouth!!
Finally the teacher (to their credit one was changing a diaper and the other was checking in a new friend, so they had their hands full!) notices and separates trouble and paci girl but then she zeros in on Brooklyn again and goes over and hits her!!
Oh man it took every ounce in my being to not go running over there and take Brooklyn out.
Mad at a one year, seriously?
I just can't stand to see my babies hurt.
I take it SO personally, not accidents of course, but when I see them purposely hurt by something or someone.

I will be relying on the Lord's mercies to get me through junior high and high school years. :(

Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. :)

Prepare yourself.
One of the funniest videos, I think. ;)

Brooklyn has a little boyfriend, Landon.  They've been besties since being in their mommies tummies.  As you know though at these ages they don't really play with one another.  So until recently they haven't paid much attention to one another.  Well the other day at pick up at Brynn's preschool, we were standing around talking while the kids played, and out of the blue Landon comes up and embraces Brooklyn.
Sweetest thing ever.

So, I think in an effort to catch it on film, Jackie (Landon's mom) has her phone out on video and is taping Landon as she sees him heading towards Brooklyn.
Anticipating a loving embrace we all watch admiringly at what's about to unfold:
I can NOT stop laughing.
She was quickly over it and was fine but man I think Landon is crushing hard!! :)

p.s. Yes they wear their dresses two years in a row.  I buy big, so they can wear them for two seasons, helps justify the cost. :)

Easter Festivities!!

So I feel like my girls participated in a million egg hunts this year. :)
I won't bore you with all the pictures of egg finding, just my favs. :)

We did an egg hunt with our MOPS table- which pics are here.
They did an egg hunt with our city- pics also in the same post as above.
The girls did an egg hunt with our preschool.
And we did another one with our small group.
They never tired of it though, they still like to pull out their baskets and hide eggs around the house!

Good Friday we attended services and then had a nice dinner with the Chevriers and our old small group/neighbors that have moved away.  It was great to spend time with them.

Saturday our preschool had a brunch, Easter egg hunt, and other fun things to participate in.
Miss Leah Levin did an awesome job with all the work that went in to it!!

I just love this pic below. :)

Do you see her pigtails!?  She didn't hold still for a second.
And she was quite good at finding eggs, even the trickier ones (for her age of course)!
OK I had to include this picture.  I was inside and saw her mesmerized and just watching this bubble float around.  I wanted to snap a pic but by the time I did the bubble had popped.  I just have to laugh, she looks a little crazy staring at a wall. :)

That night our small group got together and had a little egg hunt for the kids before the adults met.
The whole gang, just missing Alex, Anderson, and our newest member Lincoln!
Big kids letting the littles get a head start, anxious much!?
Checking their loot. :)

Easter morning we attended our church service.  They asked regular attenders to try to avoid the 10:30 service since they anticipated it being their most popular one for new comers to attend.  So we attended the 9 o'clock service and they still had to ask regular attenders to consider giving up their seats for people still looking for a place to sit.  So the Hubs and I gave up our seats and went out into the lobby.  We were told later there was about 150 of us in the lobby.  How awesome is that?!  I can't imagine what the 10:30 service was like, Yea God!
Here's the pack lobby!

All the ladies dressed in their pretties! :)

One blessing this year, after an expected trip to Egypt my parents got a overnight lay over with us for Easter!!
They were suppose to be in at 5.  I got there at 5:15 but due to delays they didn't get out to us until almost 7:30. :(  Needless to say the girls were so anxious to see them!!  Thank goodness I did NOT bring Brooklyn.
I had a yummy ham Easter dinner waiting but with our delays the plans were foiled.
Luckily, we came home to the food ready and kept warm by the hubs.  Still delicious! :)

The next day we just soaked up time with Mormor and Poppi, such a treat!

Even dyed our eggs (a day late :) )
K LOVED Walmart's spill/mess proof egg dying kit. :)
Happy Easter 2012!
Look everyone is looking and, almost, all smiling!!  An Easter miracle! ;)
